Kelly M. Coats

Kelly obtained her Real Estate license in 2004, after earning two bachelor's degrees (One in Spanish for Business Professions and one in Journalism) from the University of Colorado--Boulder. She brings diverse experience to The Monaghan Group, having represented buyers and sellers in tumultuous markets, and earning a spot on an agent leadership council, in the early years of her career.

She is passionate about thoughtfully consulting people during their real estate purchase, sale, or investment process and likes to think in terms of a family's legacy and long-term goals. She has enjoyed consulting clients, in English and in Spanish, throughout her career, mostly in the West Valley. She earned her Graduate Realtor Institute (GRI) and Certified Negotiation Expert (CNE) designations and has also gained experience in insurance, lending, and non-profit organization management along the way.

Kelly is raising two teenagers. Her son has expressed interest in obtaining a real estate license after Graduation, and her daughter is a dedicated competitive dancer. They enjoy international travel, cooking, hiking, and rescuing animals together. Kelly writes poetry and has volunteered as a poetry/creative writing teacher for a trauma victim recovery program. She, and her teens, have also volunteered together for food outreach and foster care organizations. She believes there is always great return from investments in family, community, and career, especially when the clients become like family!
